Hon Non Bo
The dramatic shapes and textures of the mountain islands in this composition emerged when soft areas of stone were removed from a single large feather rock boulder to reveal the denser layers. The imaginary scene portrays two fishermen enjoying the serenity and cooling mist of a waterfall cascading from tall mountain islands.
The Korean tray, a casting of 85% mica and graphite, was hand burnished but otherwise unfinished.
