Portfolio > Inuksuit

Baffin Island is the largest island in Canada and the fifth largest island in the world. During the brief summer there, micro-ecosystems emerge in the shelter of stone sculptures such as the huge 200-year old inuksuk portrayed in this composition*. Lichens and tiny plants grow from the seeds in the droppings from birds, attracting butterflies, and other insects.
