Bamboo Island is one of the Phi Phi group off the Andaman Coast of Southern Thailand, 946 kilometers from Bangkok. In this imaginary scene, two friends fish beneath a waterfall as early mist hovers above the water's surface.
This island is composed of fragments released by fracturing a 200-lb. feather rock. The waterfall tumbles from the sail-shaped mountain and through crevices below, while mist pours from caves at the water's surface. Dwarf blue pilea cascades from a ledge near the peak.
The Korean tray, a casting of 85% mica and graphite, was finished with a clear lacquer.
