“Spaghetti stone” is a natural limestone harvested from extinct coral formations along Turkey’s Mediterranean coast. The companion driftwood and live plant in this composition reflect the interrelated origins of these natural materials.

A contemporary reflection of techniques for displaying Chinese “scholar’s rocks”, the stone rests on a pedestal (daiza) of shaped Corian. A waterfall cascading through the stone’s interior to the pool below creates soft natural music.

The Korean tray, a casting of 85% mica and graphite, was sealed and hand burnished, but otherwise unfinished.
